MDIS updated the CCTV Security Cameras within a “massive automotive inspection quality control facility” to oversee precious inventory consisting of high dollar item electronics, HID/LED headlights, and radio components for an internationally renowned car manufacturer.
The client was challenged with internal shrinkage and damage of expensive “high-ticket inventory” items and consulted MDIS for a solution.
MDIS installed a mixture of overhead fixed, multi-sensor, and varifocal camera HD IP technologies using Arecont Vision IP cameras in important inventory quarantine, inspection, and long-term storage areas that were having serious issues.
These systems were deployed “after hours” discreetly by MDIS professionals which were required to install multiple MDF/IDF locations to deal with the enormous size of the facility. Hoffman Rack Cabinets and Panduit Patch Panels/Organizers were netaly interconnected together with GenSpeed Copper/Fiber cabling. New IP cameras were installed and powered by Gigabit PoE switches, from which video feeds were fed back to and recorded on a local Digital Watchdog Spectrum Windows recording solution. These angles are recording onsite, as well as backed up to the company 's international network and servers for redundancy.
Existing Avigilon and Axis Communications IP cameras on premise were migrated and repurposed onto the new video management solution, Digital Watchdog Spectrum IPVMS in order to stay cost-effective by reusing customers' previous equipment investment.
Supervisor and management personnel were provided with customized camera software layouts that showed their areas of concern, which immediately helped improve and eliminate the previous problems that they were experiencing.
