MDIS was contracted to overhaul and outfit high-end video conferencing systems for both a divisible multipurpose room space as well as executive boardroom for a public school in Pontiac, MI. These projects were unique in the sense that they had a request for “zero downtime”.

MDIS was contracted to overhaul and outfit high-end video conferencing systems for both a divisible multipurpose room space as well as executive boardroom for a public school in Pontiac, MI. These projects were unique in the sense that they had a request for “zero downtime” in the room and MDIS was tasked with creating a creative solution for the customer to be able to have fully functional conference room and conferencing setup while they waited for the rest of the equipment to arrive (which is unusual request). MDIS accomplished this request by providing a complimentary “loaner system” to the customer for temporary use while the rest of their products were sourced by MDIS.
In the larger new divisible space setup on upper level - a brilliant 98” LG UH-Series 24/7 500-nit 4K Commercial display was outfitted at the head end of the room so whatever content is being shared can easily be viewed anywhere in the space by everyone. Three pairs of Bose FreeSpace FS2SE Surface-mount Loudspeakers were selected, and paired with a LEA Professional Connect 70V Amplifier. The divisible space areas are virtually partitioned into “two zones” on the ClearOne Converge Pro2 DSP to allow the spaces to be used as one or independently. An Atlona HD PTZ Conferencing Camera was installed at the head end of the room above the newly installed LG commercial display to easily capture participants in the room (to be viewed by remote participants ). “Crystal clear sound” is captured in the space by a pair of ClearOne BMA-360 beamforming microphones installed in each of the two spaces to be used during conferencing with USB audio.
The smaller executive conference room downstairs, mirrors the setup of the “big brother” multi purpose room upstairs also using LG Commercial, Atlona, Bose, LEA, and ClearOne audio-visual equipment. However, this room features a gorgeous pair of LG 75” displays on each end of the room to allow the user to have multiple sources playing at the same time. Depending on the customer's presentation needs, the rooms have the ability to have an “overflow” setup and be merged together virtually since all the sources have IP video and are easily encoded together.
MDIS was happy to be a part of this exciting project and provide a solution to be used by the school's teachers and students for education for decades to come.
