MDIS provided professional audiovisual setups for a pair of Gymnasium(s) of a private charter School located in Romulus, MI. MDIS was contacted regarding outfitting a large high-school Gymnasium as well as middle-school gymnasium with commercial audio setup.
The school was looking for a professional solution for an audio setup to use during basketball games, school dances, and miscellaneous activities that take place in the gymnasium. Both the highschool and middle school gymnasium spaces, in an effort to standardize the equipment and ease-of-use nearly identical “Harmon Kardon setups” were implemented using (2) pairs of JBL CBT 70J-1 Line Array Column Loudspeaker with JBL JBL CBT 70E-1 Line Array Extension Columns. These beautiful new pairs of 70V JBL line-array speakers are “neatly” suspended and “flown” above the gymnasium ceiling out of sight using “overkilled” chain and carabiners, with redundant safety wire loops. The speakers are powered by a Crown CDI DriveCore amplifier and driven by Soundcraft Ui24R 24-channel Remote-controlled Digital Mixer (...which the Gym Teacher loves to control music and his favorite playlists during workouts on, using his new Apple iPad).
Shure SLX wireless handheld microphones with PA805SWB Passive Directional Antenna(s) were outfitted in the gym to combat the giant space to ensure high-quality sound would be provided at all times. A SoundCraft DSP / Mixer were utilized to connect together the clients existing microphones, and wireless microphones as well as their projector cart and Gym teacher’s mobile device bluetooth connection. The equipment was neatly and professionally installed in a locked/secured gym instructor’s office, out of sight but still easily controllable during basketball and school events.
MDIS is proud to help these middle-school and high-school students exercise, compete, dance, and engage with one another using these speaker setups for audio.
