Project Details

MDIS was contracted to overhaul the Auditorium/Theater Audiovisual setup at a Detroit Private Elementary Charter School. MDIS was contacted regarding outfitting an existing elementary school theater with an audio setup intended to be used by music instructors and students during plays and recitals. The space had no existing audio-visual equipment and was craving a professional setup for how often the space was used. The space was outfitted with a pair of “gorgeous sounding” JBL PRX 15” Two-Way Full-Range Speakers powered by a robust Crown XTI 4002 commercial amplifier that fills the room with crystal-clear loud audio. The students' beautiful recitals and performances are captured using sets of overhead “hanging choir” microphones from Shure Brothers microphones, in addition to Shure SLX wireless handheld / lavalier microphones. A DBX DriveRack EQ and Denon Professional DN-312X 12-Channel Mixer were utilized to connect together the clients existing microphones, overheard hanging microphones, and wireless microphones as well as their projector cart & instructor iPhone bluetooth connection. The equipment was neatly and professionally installed behind the stage out of sight which can easily be controlled by instructor and theater volunteers during events. MDIS is proud to have assisted this elementary school by enabling its theater and creative arts departments to give heightened live events, throughout this beautiful historic Detroit building and creative rehabilitation opportunity.
