Project Details

MDIS was honored to be awarded a city-wide surveillance project with the City of Center Line, in which it designed a multisite CCTV solution, furnished all security equipment, and performed the configuration and implementation of these systems.

MDIS worked directly with both Digital Watchdog and Axis Communications manufacture representatives to design and implement a solution for the City’s Police, Court, Fire, Water Department, Maintenance, Parks / Rec, Shooting Range, Public Parks, and Intersections. We provided a completely merged IP based video recording solution using the customers video management software of choice, Digital Watchdog Spectrum IPVMS. MDIS worked hard to find a balance between quality and cost, to design a surveillance solution that made the most long term sense for the City to select MDIS compared to all other vendors. A mixture of Axis Communications P3807 8MP multi-sensor and P3717 8MP panoramic cameras were utilized, along with Digital Watchdog 4MP fixed and 9MP fisheye cameras.

After being awarded to MDIS, the project was carefully done in phases in order of importance to the city while leaving their existing systems in place and holding off abatement of old equipment and cabling until new systems were deployed and fully functioning at each site. This ensured that the city was never left without coverage, and that the installation was done in a timely manner without interrupting operations.

After fully furnishing the installation of all the aforementioned sites, MDIS was tasked with the challenge of overhauling a Police dispatch room and all their multiple video monitors and displays to show the new city-wide surveillance system in an organized fashion. New layouts, Maps, and users were created for the city's dozens of system users and the police dispatch room was carefully overhauled around the City’s ongoing operations to comply with their “no downtime” requests.

This system is now fully completed, and moved to the warranty and service phase and MDIS is proud of our customer’s satisfaction and their ongoing requests for new projects and other services from MDIS.
