MDIS’ customer is a full service, best in class, pallet company delivering innovative pallet solutions to customers across the United States for over 50 years. The customer specializes in supplying high quality recycled pallets, new custom pallets, and comprehensive pallet services. They are headquartered in MI, however, they have over 100 national facilities.
The customer had a variety of challenges that a new camera system would help address. They had difficulty tracking and accurately confirming employee pallet production levels. There were security concerns at the facility due its location in the downtown metropolis of Detroit. There were concerns about potential issues that could arise from employee hi-lo and semi-truck accidents. Further, management wanted increased security around the perimeter and full visibility of production areas through the facility.
Metro Detroit Integrated Systems, LLC (MDIS) helped the customer achieve improved efficiency of operations in production areas and overall security of the facility. The MDIS plan included a Blackjack® P-RackTM server with 60TB and Raid5 (DW-BJR2U24T); DW Spectrum® IPVMS and licensing, MEGApix® 4MP ultra low-profile vandal dome IP cameras with 2.8mm fixed lens and junction boxes (DWC-MV74WI28, DWC-V7JUNC); MEGApix® 4MP low-profile vandal dome IP cameras with vari-focal lens, auto focus and motorized zoom (DWC-MV84WIA); MEGApix® PanoTM 48MP multi-sensor IP camera (DWC-PZV2M72T); MEGApix®FlexTM 16MP multi-sensor user configurable IP camera with 4x 4.0mm fixed lenses (DWC-PVX16W4); MEGApix® PanoTM 9MP 360-degree fisheye IP camera and ceiling mount (DWC-PVF9M2TIR, DWC-VFZCM).
